“Goan Volunteer Spirit” Seminar at Fr. Agnel College of Art & Commerce, Pilar

Fr. Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar, in collaboration with Goa Sudharop Development INC USA, organised a one-day workshop on the theme “Goan Volunteer Spirit” at the College premises on 24th September 2010. Fr.Frederick Rodrigues, Principal of the College conducted a prayer service followed by the lighting of the traditional lamp and a formal welcome. Mr.Ibonio D'souza, Executive Director of Goa Sudharop, was the chief guest. He gave a brief description of Goa Sudharop which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, adding that we have to live in harmony with others and each contribute our bit towards society. Ms Angela Dias, the Co-ordinator of the workshop, elaborated on the theme of the workshop. She urged the youth to work towards making a difference individually and collectively in our ailing society which would also help them to positively transform their lives in the process.

There were four sessions conducted by eminent resource persons. Thirteen colleges and higher secondary schools participated in the workshop. The participants took a pledge in the end where they promised to play their part and make a positive difference in society. Ms Resham Bhambra proposed the Vote of Thanks.
